Mail Design Professional (MDP) Certification

This full-day course provides in-depth training and exam preparation on postal standards related to designing letter and flat mail to facilitate processing on high-speed automation equipment while maximizing cost-effectiveness and reducing processing delays. MDP training is free, however, USPS MDP Certification is only available upon successful completion of course assessment, which does have a $95 fee. Registrants who want certification may pay for the exam when registering or the day of the event.

This course includes:

  • Postal addressing standards
  • Class of mail and processing categories
  • POSTNET, Intelligent Mail® & parcel barcoding formats & print specifications
  • Designing automation letters & flats (tabbing, polywrap, deflection, flexibility, etc.)
  • Reply mail (BRM, CRM, MRM, PRM, MRS)
  • Address Information Products & Move Update

Learners will also receive information on design standards for Customized Market Mail, Repositionable Notes, Election Mail Logos, Privately Printed Labels and Reusable Envelopes.

HOUSTON — Bright pink peach blossoms highlight the 2019 Year of the Boar Forever stamp, the 12th and final stamp in the Celebrating Lunar New Year series. CHARLOTTE, NC — The Postal Service observes the Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday on Monday, Jan. 21. Post Offices are closed and there is limited delivery of some package products, including Priority Mail Express. NORTH CAROLINA – Many consumers are in a sprint to the finish in terms of getting their holiday gifts and greetings in the mail. This week is expected to be the busiest week of the holiday mailing and shipping season for the Postal Service. The agency expects to process and deliver nearly 3 billion pieces of mail, which includes packages, this week alone. In the two weeks leading up to Christmas, Dec. 10-23, the Postal Service expects to deliver nearly 200 million packages each week.
