WASHINGTON — The U.S. Postal Service reported total revenue of $19.7 billion for the first quarter of fiscal 2019 (October 1, 2018 - December 31, 2018), an increase of $553 million, or 2.9 percent, compared to the same quarter last year.

HOUSTON — Bright pink peach blossoms highlight the 2019 Year of the Boar Forever stamp, the 12th and final stamp in the Celebrating Lunar New Year series. The U.S. Postal Service dedicated the stamps today during a first-day-of-issue ceremony at the Chinese Community Center in Houston, TX. The public is asked to share the news of the stamp using the hashtag #LunarNewYear.

CHARLOTTE, NC — The Postal Service observes the Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday on Monday, Jan. 21. Post Offices are closed and there is limited delivery of some package products, including Priority Mail Express. All Post Offices will reopen with regular mail delivery, collections, and retail services after the holiday on Jan. 22.

NORTH CAROLINA – Many consumers are in a sprint to the finish in terms of getting their holiday gifts and greetings in the mail. This week is expected to be the busiest week of the holiday mailing and shipping season for the Postal Service. The agency expects to process and deliver nearly 3 billion pieces of mail, which includes packages, this week alone. In the two weeks leading up to Christmas, Dec. 10-23, the Postal Service expects to deliver nearly 200 million packages each week.
