Mail Design Professional (MDP) Certification

This full-day course provides in-depth training and exam preparation on postal standards related to designing letter and flat mail to facilitate processing on high-speed automation equipment while maximizing cost-effectiveness and reducing processing delays. MDP training is free, however, USPS MDP Certification is only available upon successful completion of course assessment, which does have a $95 fee. Registrants who want certification may pay for the exam separately.

This course includes:

  • Postal addressing standards
  • Class of mail and processing categories
  • POSTNET, Intelligent Mail® & parcel barcoding formats & print specifications
  • Designing automation letters & flats (tabbing, polywrap, deflection, flexibility, etc.)
  • Reply mail (BRM, CRM, MRM, PRM, MRS)
  • Address Information Products & Move Update

Learners will also receive information on design standards for Customized Market Mail, Repositionable Notes, Election Mail Logos, Privately Printed Labels and Reusable Envelopes.

MONTEREY PARK, CA — The U.S. Postal Service today marked the beginning of the Lunar New Year by issuing a new Forever stamp celebrating the Year of the Rat. The stamp was dedicated during opening ceremonies of the Monterey Park Lunar New Year Festival, one of the largest festivals of its kind in the nation. The public is asked to share news of the stamp using the hashtag #LunarNewYear.

Brennan, who announced her intent to retire effective Jan. 31, 2020. To facilitate the search and transition process, the Postmaster General has agreed to delay her retirement date.

This week is anticipated to be the busiest week of the holiday mailing and shipping season for the Postal Service. The agency expects to process and deliver nearly 2.5 billion pieces of mail, including packages, this week alone.
